My daughter attends RHC CF team in Glasgow. We had her annual review which normally can take all day and is fairly exhausting for her and also for us as there is a lot of worry they comes with these appointments. I just wanted to say how fantastic this years experience was compared to previous years.
The team have clearly listened to feedback from patients and parents. From the moment we arrived in X-ray we were greeted and taken to a room. We were regularly informed of what was going to happen next and the staff kept us segregated from any other patients which is essential for CF patients. My daughter is 14 and they explained everything to her, maintaining her dignity throughout examinations. I can’t thank the team in X-ray, pulmonary function lab, the physios ( and assistants), phlebotomists and dieticians enough. I’m sorry I didn’t get everyone’s names as I do normally find this process quite stressful but for all the team in October you were amazing!
Everyone greeted us with a smile, everyone asked us how we were doing, everyone asked my daughter if she had had some food knowing that she had been starved for her early morning US. The difference this year was fantastic and I can honestly say it is the first time we have left feeling incredibly positive and very much listened to. Well done team, every one of you is an essential element in our patient journey and your smiles and positivity brightened up what is normally a tough day for us
