"Poor after care"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Day Surgery

(as a service user),

I had an gynaecological op at day surgery. After surgery I developed symptoms of increased pain and swelling. I felt vulnerable as I was put beside male patients despite having a gyn op. I felt my symptoms were dismissed at times and was told I was anxious when in fact I was bleeding internally. I would not feel safe there again.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear clayj2,

I am so sorry you felt this way during your care in the Day Surgery Unit. I passed this to the management team and Linda Gray, our Unit Manager of the Day Surgery Unit, has asked if you would be willing to contact her to discuss your experience on Tel: 01563.827248.

I hope you are feeling better now,

best wishes,

Eunice
