On arrival at F4 For my laparoscopic sterilisation I was greeted by a lovely friendly nurse at the end of their night shift who showed me where the toilets are and gave me my wristband and showed me to my bed. Everyone was friendly from checking my details, helping put on the dvt stockings, anaesthetist and consultants came to talk through the procedure and see if any questions. I had a lovely chatty nurse putting me at ease on the way to theatre. After the surgery I had a bad reaction to the anaesthetic and was looked after so well by a very patient nurse for sometime in recovery until well enough to go back to the ward.
On the ward I was checked on regularly and offered pain relief when needed. My father and son were allowed onto the ward to collect me while my discharge was being arranged.
Overall I had a caring and patient experience by all staff from when I arrived at 7am until I left at 5:30pm.
