"My mother and how she was dealt with"

About: Raigmore Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a relative),

My mother was taken in with a broken hip to ward 3a, she had an operation and was in there until she was transferred to another hospital. The care she received at Raigmore was not adequate and as her daughter I was treated with disrespect because I was travelling abroad and was concerned about what would happen to my mother.

One nurse in particular was extremely sarcastic when I asked what would happen to mum as I was travelling abroad, another nurse practitioner was the same, both of these staff members did absolutely nothing to ease my mothers recuperation.

Message to staff - It is their job to do what they are paid to do I. e. nurse and not pass judgement on relatives who are going abroad.

Dear Barnat

Thank you for your email communication regarding your mother's admission to Raigmore Hospital. I have now had the opportunity to discuss your concerns with the Surgical Nurse Manager and he has asked if you could contact him directly.

In order for him to investigate this appropriately he will require your mother's personal information, including herdate of admission.

I would be grateful therefore if you could contact Mr William Craig MacLeman, Divisional Nurse Manager on 01463 705153 or by email on william.craigmacleman@nhs.net. He can then investigate your concerns in full.

Yours sincerely
