"Hospital experience"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

At A&E triaging is done by the receptionists, who denied any kind of treatments or assesments. Worst ever hospital experience for me. How trained are those receptionists to triage a patient? And if so then why need RNs and doctors at all.

Dear littilrock

I'm sorry you felt this was your worst ever hospital experience.

Our receptionists do not triage. They ask for a presenting complaint to put details onto the system.

You are then seen by a front desk nurse at busy times who identifies what your initial needs are and whether you are able to stay in the waiting room or a triage nurse at other times who assesses your needs.

It would be best if you call our PALS department on 01823 343536 or email pals@tst.nhs.uk with your details as then we can look at your notes and explain what happened and the system to you.

I hope you are feeling better and we can resolve this for you.

Regards

Louise
