"Mental Health Services in Taunton"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / General medicine Somerset NHS Foundation Trust Southmead Hospital / General medicine

(as a service user),

I was took to Musgrove Park Hospital after taking quite a number of tablets. I ended up on a life support machine very unwell.

I was sent home without any support or help by the mental health services liaison team.

I remained unwell, was taken by ambulance back to MPH and sent home to walk back 3 miles home at night feeling terrible.

No compassion or safe care in this decision.

Finally, police and the general public found me the right help at another NHS hospital at Southmead where I was treated with dignity and respect.

Dear Msemmy88, Thank you for taking the time to post the experience that you had whilst in Musgrove Park hospital. I am very sorry that you didn't have the help that you believe you needed whilst there. I do not have an email for you, but I am happy to look further into this to see if the Psychiatric Liaison team were contacted whilst you were in the hospital, and if they were, why you were not offered any help. I hope that you are now recovering well. If you would like me to do this, please send an email to the PALS team on pals@sompar.nhs.uk and I will look into this further.
