"Easy c section operation"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

I had my c section done on 15th October. Just want to say I was very surprised by how great the procedure went and how good the team were. I previously had my first c section at Homerton and the procedure there was painful at times especially when I had my epidural done. But the team at Whipps Cross were amazing and made me so comfortable. They really looked after me and made the procedure painless. I hope that someone will give this feedback to them.

I have to admit that the staff on the ward overnight were unable to provide the best service they could as they were grossly understaffed (through no fault of their own).

The decision to stop allowing husbands & partners to stay overnight is ridiculous as it adds more pressure to the staff working nights. A lot of women who have had c sections are unable to change and feed their babies on the first night.

After my first night I was asked whether I wanted to be released the following day or stay one more day. That one night I spent on the ward was so awful that I said I would rather go home even though I felt very unwell.
