Why, why, why does it seem like some staff members are so rude to patients and family.
On two seperate occasions over the last few weeks my husband has visited different cardiac out patient clinics. He has significant hearing problems, so has real difficulty communicating at appointments. We have asked on several occasions for this to be noted on his file.
Twice as I have tried to help my husband communicate with these nurses, twice I have been asked to be quiet, despite telling them he is hard of hearing.
This has led to me as his carer being upset and my husband completely embarrassed as it just highlights his hearing problem.
We are finding these appointments really difficult and beginning to dread them.
As his carer and someone who lives 24/7 with him and his medical conditions, I am able to communicate the problems he is having without embarrassing him.
"We are finding these appointments really difficult"
