"Made a worrying time much easier"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Accident & Emergency Crosshouse Hospital / Cardiology

(as a relative),

Just last week, my dad (in his mid 70's) was urgently taken to Crosshouse hospital experiencing cardiac arrhythmia, and feeling very unwell. He was kept overnight in the emergency dept and then for a 4 further days as inpatient on Ward 4E.

I live in Canada. It is always challenging and worrisome when your loved ones back home are sick and admitted to hospital. On being discharged home, my dad shared with me, how good he found the nursing care in Ward 4E. He tells me he was visited daily by i think the managers of the unit, he called them "sisters", who would share information with him and help him better understand what was happening with his condition. He couldn't remember their names, although they did share them. They answered his many questions, were kind and very caring towards him. His comment "they were so kind, nothing was a bother".

I thought it important to share this, and i hope it reaches the nursing staff of ward 4E. Thankyou all for making this worrying time much easier with kindness, caring and compassion.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Prince Edward Island,

I am sorry to hear that your dad wasn’t well, but delighted he got all the TLC and information he needed at such a distressing time.

I feel for you; being so far away. The distance must make things difficult but I am grateful that you can feedback from Canada on Care Opinion using the World Wide Web. (It is incredible when we think about it).

It is always delightful to hear the words “kindness, caring and compassion” with regards to care and treatment. I will make sure this this is passed to the team in 4E and I am sure they will be ‘over-the-moon’ with such an accolade.

Thank you so much for taking time to share this lovely feedback.

Best wishes,

Eunice
