"The nurses had not been given any handover"

About: Northern General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a staff member),

Tired, cold hungry and even worse. I came to A and E in th ambulance after I fainted and had what we think is a panic attack. Once arriving and waiting hours in A and E we got seen by a doctor who did a review. He then passed us on to a medical student who did the ECG and it came out all "fuzzy" and so we were informed to get another ecg at clinical decision unit.

Once reaching there we were waiting for hours. No one would give us food or even blankets. I had no money to get any food. When I asked what was happening and why it would take so long, the nurses had not been given any handover and were confused that we were waiting for an ECG and thought we were waiting for x rays. After explaining and eventually getting the ECG done the nurses though we had done a blood test and we were waiting upon results! We were not told we needed a blood test and had not had one done either.
