"Unsettled patient and husband"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Geriatric Assessment

(as a service user),

Nursing staff very caring, but rushed off their feet. Patient feels ‘she should be up helping them’. Nurses come when buzzed.

Patient’s husband feels his wife would have done much better if conditions had been dealt with more quickly over the last year. Doctor almost every day, but patient does not have the road ahead, due partly to being too ill currently. Patient’s husband would like to speak to Consultant in charge of wife’s care. He feels that this would help settle any anxiety he is feeling. Patient and husband require reassurance and to plan ahead.

Dear Uhh105

Thank you for acting as advocate for our patients and relatives. Can I ask that you contact our patient affairs department to forward contact information for this family as I would like to explore the concerns further and ensure the Consultant is aware of the request to meet.

Kind Regards

Gwen
