"Talking therapies"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as a service user),

The people I am going to are brilliant.  I have only just started, but I would prefer to go to the Talking Therapies in the borough where I live (Haverley).  I am having hourly to go to another borough (Thurrock) it takes 1 hout to get to the Grays, Essesx, if I went to NELRT Haverley, I could be at Harrow Lodge (NELRT) Hornschurch in 20 mins by bus.

Patients should be able to go where they like for treatment, I can get to either places I stated but there others who cannot.

NHS, CCGs groups should be more understanding to patients.

I have even asked at changing to a GP in the town where I live to get treatment for my Social Anxiety Disorder in the borough  where I live

Manage the team of therapists, and do some therapy myself.

Dear Plutosh45,

Thank you so much for writing, and I'm really pleased that the people you are seeing for therapy are "brilliant". We try very hard to ensure that our clients get the best possible evidence-based treatment for their difficulties!

It can also be very difficult to understand at times why we can't be seen anywhere (or closer to home), especially when it's "all just the same NHS". Unfortunately, geographical boundaries often get in the way and do not always coincide with funding boundaries. NHS services are (usually) funded by the same CCG for the locality where you are registered with your GP. Sometimes, that can be really tricky if you move out of the local borough, but stay registered with your "tried and trusted" GP.

We do try to see people as close to their home as possible, but we have to stay within the boundaries of the borough in which we serve. If you are finding it very difficult, please contact us and we will do what we can to make things more accessible for you, but it might be the case that in order to be seen more locally, you may have to consider changing your GP.

In the meantime, whilst we might not be able to help with your geographical journey, Inclusion Thurrock will remain committed to helping you with your therapeutic journey!
