"What a special team you are"

About: The Knoll Hospital / Older people's care (inpatient)

(as a relative),

Our Mum Audrey was admitted to the Knoll Hospital in July 2019 from the BGH as a half way stop to being able to go back to her home. She was reluctant to go to the Knoll but  changed her tune in a very short time.

She was given the highest standard of care from the staff at every level. Nothing was a problem and she was able to spend her last few weeks feeling so secure and so well cared for. Her condition meant that this was to be Mum's final home and to the very end she was treated with total dignity, professionalism and in an amazingly caring and loving environment which gave her so much strength and peace.

All our family and visitors to Mum could see that this was a very special place.  Mum conveyed to everyone how happy she felt -a great comfort to all of us. She was so content with her surroundings and  loved the staff who cared for her every day.

To every one of the staff at the Knoll from Senior Staff Nurse to the auxiliaries I would like to thank each and every one of you for your care of the most special person in our world. She loved you all.

I personally thank you so much - what a special Team you are.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback to the team at the Knoll regarding the care your mother Audrey received whilst an inpatient. It is always heartening for the staff to hear back from families on the care their loved ones received whilst nursed within our unit.

The team work very hard to treat all their patients using a person- centered approach and we are so glad that this is reflected in your memories of the time your mother spent with us.

We are glad that the final memories you have with your mother are positive and you felt reassured that she was happy, safe and comfortable whilst in our care.

I will feedback to Morag the Senior Charge Nurse and her team your kind words and please accept our condolences for your loss.

Kind regards,

Caroline Burgess

Clinical Nurse Manager- Primary and Community Services.
