"High Blood Pressure Advice"

About: IC24 NHS 111 / NHS 111 (East Kent)

(as the patient),

The last 6 weeks I checked my blood pressure which was high each time, while collecting my wife from my local G. P I used the blood pressure monitor at this surgery and both times the reading showed a high reading I also booked an appointment for the following Friday.

I visited the NHS website regards high blood pressure, after entering my readings it told me to seek medical assistance.

I contacted the 111 service who made an appointment to see a doctor at IC24. I felt the doctor was very dismissive of the blood pressure readings and advised that I cancel the forthcoming appointment with my G. P.

I am glad I didnt cancel this appointment as my G. P has put me on medication for high blood pressure and requested I have blood tests.

I feel that if I had took notice of the IC24 doctor I could have at some stage had a heart attack.

Dear patient,

We would welcome the opportunity to review your case further. If you could email further details, such as the date you called NHS 111 to complaints.ic24@nhs.net then we can review your case and provide you with any relevant updates.

Best wishes,

Richard
