(as a relative),

My husband collapsed on one afternoon last month with ventricular tachycardia and unstable atrial fibrillation. He was admitted by emergency ambulance to Hairmyres hospital, it was an extremely anxious time for us both.

The 999 operator who answered my call helped me stay calm,  the paramedics particularly Grant who arrived first by car expertly reassured us while gaining as much information as possible.

In accident & emergency Dr Gallagher other doctors and the nursing team stabilised my husband and constantly updated us with the information we needed to understand what was happening.

The doctors and nurses in coronary care, cardiac catheterisation and ward 9 are dedicated and knowledgeable and cannot be faulted.

I would also like to say a big thank you to the domestic and catering team who do a great job. They work so hard.

A big thank you to the team at Hairmyres. We should be thankful of the NHS and hard working teams like Hairmyres.

Dear KarenM

Thank you for taking the time to contact us via Care Opinion. I am delighted to hear that our staff were able to help your husband in his time of need, and also to provide you with the emotional support you needed at what must have been a very traumatic time for you both.

I will share this lovely feedback with all the staff you have mentioned above, particularly Dr Gallagher and his excellent team of colleagues.

Thanks again for your kind words, and please extend our best wishes to your husband and wish him a speedy recovery.

Best Wishes

Hazel

Dear KarenM many thanks for providing feedback on the care that your husband received whilst in the care of the NHS

I appreciate that it must have been an extremely difficult time for you both but really pleased that at all stages of the care journey the level of care was of the standard expected of our NHS

From an ambulance perspective I would be most obliged if you could contact me via email at agraham1@nhs.net to allow me to identify the ambulance staff to pass on your kind comments

I hope that your husband is recovering well

Kind Regards

Andy
