"Waiting time"

About: Cumberland Infirmary / Ophthalmology

Still waiting after 2 hours. Had no feedback to say how long we still have to wait. Toilets in main corridor not in service at this busy time.

I am very sorry that your wait in the Ophthalmology clinic was long and it appears that you were not kept informed on the length of the delay.

We do try to keep all patients updated if the clinics are running late and this is normally displayed in the waiting area. Please accept my apologies that on this occasion that it must have been overlooked.

I would also like to apologise that the toilets in the atrium were closed off at the time you were in clinic. The closure reason and directions to the closest facilities were displayed so that all patients and visitors were aware of the improvement work being undertaken and where they could access the closest facilities to use.

I will share your feedback with the Sister in Ophthalmology so that she can remind the reception staff to display the ‘current waiting time’ if any of their clinics are running late.

Once again, thank you for letting us know about your experience. It is by hearing from patients, good or bad, that we are helped to improve our service.
