"Colposcopy"

About: Warrington Hospital / Gynaecology

I had an appointment for colposcopy that just came from nowhere. Before I begin I need to mention I am pregnant and as we all know stress is not good for pregnancy! When i called the number given in the letter they just told me they cant tell me why I’ve been given this appointment. Then I wanted to at least request a female doctor to do it for me and the woman on the phone said this wont be possible and I’ve been acting childish as its just a simple colposcopy. When i attend my appointment the male doctor wasn’t really pleasant. He attacked me because I didn't had a smear test before and then he tried to explain me he is doing these treatments every day so he know what to do.

However I sat on the bed and the doctor and 2 nurses came to me for the examination. It wasn't pleasant at all. The doctor literally shovelled the speculum in and I screamed in pain and I started to cry as was scared in pain and felt terrible due to being touched by someone I didn't wanted. Then they left me to calm down but the stress was terrible! After i got dressed the doctor said again how he is doing this every day but if i think someone else would be better than him then he will sign me for another appointment with another doctor! Dear doctor the question is not about you, its about the patient! If a patient tells you its in pain then believe me the patient is right! The experience I had was terrible! The way the doctor was talking to me and the way he treat me as well. I did repeat a few times I am scared but he took this like a joke. Well I will make sure non of my family or friends are going to this doctor! Patients are not going there for someone to attack them for not being examine before. We are going there for help and if there is need find the best way to explain a patient why she need this examination! I can say a lot more but I will stop here as its painful to even remember this! Dear people/managers please make sure the receptionists are people that know how to communicate with other people! They are there to help patients and give them information not to tell them what is childish and what is right for them!
