I read so many negative reviews of guys ACU, I turned up rather nervous about what to expect. The ladies behind reception ignored me when I first walked in, which felt horrible, I think one was training the other up, I was told to go to the waiting area like I should know where it was.
However, Luckily I then asked a nurse where to go and they were lovely, everyone apart from the reception ladies were caring, smiley, loving and compassionate. I couldn’t have been treated any better or felt more respected. The anaesthetist was exceptionally nice, in fact he couldn’t have been any nicer. I didn’t feel rushed at all and he made sure I was comfortable and that the anaesthetic didn’t hurt by giving me a local for the pain before it.
When I went into the theatre all the team introduced themselves to me and there job titles. It was a really wonderful experience considering the circumstance and I wish I hadn’t read all the negative reviews as there was really nothing to worry about.
Thanks so much to the team, you are excellent and your patient care is exceptional.
I also want to add how amazed I was with the cleanliness of the ward, everyone has to wear shoe covers to keep it clean and you are given slippers so you don’t have to walk around bare foot. Another little thing but makes such a difference.
I would recommend guys ACU to anyone.
