"Trying get the telephone answered and getting..."

About: Basildon University Hospital / Neurology

On referral for MRI head scan for headaches. Was told by Main NHS referral booking on 5th September that it will be passed to Basildon who will contact me by 19th September with appointment update. Heard nothing and on 27th phoned Basildon hospital twice (once put through to wrong department after holding for 5 minutes to be told no one available) and rang again and waited for approx 15 minutes just for an operator. When I was put through to Neurology was told I was over 200 down a waiting list and it could be up to 18 weeks (Not 2) for them to contact me. I appreciate that apparently my doctor has put it through as a routine scan with my current symptoms but I would have appreciated a slightly better level of service and advice.
