"Voice Recognition Software?"

About: Royal United Hospital / Accident and emergency

I visited the A&E Department as I was having trouble swelling following an injury to my soft palate. I was grateful and impressed by the care I was afforded and the out-of-horsdoctor I saw was excellent. Although I would have had a 2.5 hours wait to see a doctor it was helpful to be offered an appointment time that meant I could travel home, collect what I needed and return in time to see a doctor,

When I returned the computer system had crashed. The situation was well managed by triage staff and receptionists.

The doctor I saw told me that everything was having to be written by hand and would then need typing up - there is nobody employed to do this in the event of an IT system crash.

How about using Voice Recognition Software and supplying at least one computer with it installed to every department in the event of an IT breakdown?
