"Visit to A & E after fall."

About: St Mary's Hospital (Newport)

(as the patient),

In September 2019 I had a really bad fall after tripping on a concrete ramp. A&E was busy, of course, but everyone was so helpful, despite my husband being in shock and with a hearing problem and me bleeding from my face and also not able to hear properly - must've been so, so hard for all staff! I was seen first by Hollie, then Pippa, then Saul and finally Tom. They were ALL so, so kind and helpful and deserve medals and pay rises! I would just like to say a massive "THANK YOU! " to all of them. I know Saul was due to have some leave, I hope he had a great time off!

Dear Island Visitor

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this valuable feedback. I am sorry to hear that you suffered a fall and required the services of our A & E; but it is great to hear the positive feedback about the team. I will ensure this is shared with the Head of Nursing for the area to share with the staff named.

I am sure the team will join me in sending best wishes to you both, and I hope that you have continued to recover well following your accident.

Update posted by Island visitor (the patient)

I had a follow-up appointment at QA Hospital, ENT department and thankfully The Nose is recovering well and is straight!! Thank you "Tom"(?) and your taping!! Does anyone remember Adam Ant and his colourful face make-up? I could be his alter ego at the moment, sporting wonderful purple and yellow stripes under the eyes plus a few other colourful patches around the jaw, BUT one week on I consider myself so, so lucky to have had the team's care, I really, really do! Please, please let them know? (The gentleman I think was called Tom was having some banter with Saul, as Saul had sneaked me into "his" treatment cubicle, if that helps identify him!
