"Doctors not calling me after booking a phone..."

About: Willow Tree Family Doctors

After waiting THREE weeks for an appointment, I finally got it. When I got it I was told to take a test that would require me to come the following day with the test done but I would have to ask for the form at reception. So I went to the GP I took the sample with me and asked at reception for the form so I could give it and get my test result the following week. And guess what? The form was not ready because the Doctor forgot. So the receptionist sent her a message to prepare it for me. I waited half an hour and then the receptionist said:' I am sorry now is too late to do it anyway because the delivery guy who takes the samples has just left. Leave the sample and when she answers we will get the form for you and call you.' They didn´t call at all. So I called again on Tuesday and all I got was ' I am sorry I don´t know why the doctor has't done it yet, just wait and she will call you tomorrow at six and you can tell her about it.' Guess what? They didn´t call me. The appointment was today and I have the proof on my Patient Access. Such a same stuff and doctors not doing their job properly. We HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE ATTENDED. We can´t accept people messing with our HEALTH. I am going to reach out tomorrow again and I am going to change GP straight away. I have waisted my time by going and I have not got my test done, not got checked and waited for NOTHING. I asked so many people and all of them have told me that this has not happened to them in other GPs. Why are doctors not doing their job if they are getting paid? Oh one last thing. This GP closes at 18:30. After not receiving the phone call at 18:00 I decided to call the GP at 18:11 and speak with a receptionist. They put me on hold and hung up because it was almost closing time. I called and waited for 14 minutes which I also have proof on my phone. I am wondering if there is any way I can contact with a manager or someone because I am not allowing this to happen to me or other people.

OUR HEALTHY MATTERS.

Hello,

This sounds terrible and I’m really sorry. Unfortunately without any details of who you are it is impossible to track what happened and offer a proper explanation.

Firstly, 3 weeks for an appointment is not usual – you must have had some specific requirements? Half our appointments are bookable on the same day and using our online App is very easy.

I apologise that the doctor forgot the form, however, if the collection service was imminent, it would have been usual for the receptionist to ring the doctor (or the duty doctor if the other one was unavailable) and get it done immediately, given the time pressure.

Without more details I cannot say what happened after this and why the doctor failed to do the form.

We tried to track your phone call but without knowing the number it has not been possible to find a call like it on the system. Our telephone system records all calls and we would be able to see exactly what happened; you would not have been deliberately cut off (there were plenty more calls dealt with after this time).

Of course you can contact a manager – you can ring the main phone number or send an email, wither via the contact form on our website or using the address, patient.willowtreefamilydoctors@nhs.net marked for the attention of the Practice Manager.

It is always better to send specific details than an anonymous review which cannot be used to investigate.
