"Cheviot ward National High Secure service PD Pathway."

About: Rampton Hospital / Personality Disorder Pathway

(as the patient),

I am on Cheviot ward. I think Rampton should Improve the staffing to help me feel safe. I don’t like my ward round at all but have been encouraged to go to them, to improve me feeling included by the Team I am not given the date for ward round except on the day. I would like an advocate with me. I Am on PD now but I did feel cared for when in the LD service.

I had a very bad time last week feeling suicidal. I feel that I need to go to Brecon ward or LD. I felt threatened by the behaviour of specific staff but that it would be my word against theirs. I am struggling here since coming from LD to make me feel listened to…. Been on LD for nearly 20  years.. in PD for a few months. I am struggling and cannot adapt to the nurses andthe community. More staff needed, come back from medium secure. I have been waiting since April to meet one of the big managers. When is this happening?

Many thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback.

I am sorry to hear that you had a difficult time last week. At the Matron drop in this week, it was good to catch up with you and meet in person about some issues you have. As discussed, I will look into these and provide feedback to you.

I will ask your ward manager to provide you dates of your ward rounds so that you can be prepared for these meetings and invite an advocate to attend to support you.

I appreciate that having spent a number of years in the LD Care Stream, you may be finding the transition to the PD Care Stream difficult. Please let your ward manager know if there is any additional support that can be put in place to help you with this.

Kind regards

Kerry

Thank you for this feedback. I'm sorry that you have been having a bad time. but it's great that you have been able to talk to Kerry. I'm pleased that Kerry has asked for you to have dates of your ward rounds so that you can be prepared and an advocate can attend to support you.

With best wishes,

P.

Hi there,

I am aware of who you are and have know you for quite some time and understand your anxieties and difficulties with the transfer. This had been one that you and your clinical team agreed and planned for sometime, but do appreciate it can be scary and you cope if in ways that you need increased support with. I am the "top manager" that you say you have been waiting to see and I have seen you on several occasions but understand this sometimes is not enough. It would be good of you work with your ward team and Matrons in the PD service and build relationships with them so you have plenty of people around you can talk to.

Keep working with the team and I am sure things will get better.

when I do my catch up session in PD I will pop to see you again.

Regards

Adele
