"A&E Visit"

About: Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust

I had a dr come to see me in the early hours of the morning, and he was smiling at me, when he asked me why I had taken an overdose. I told him off and to go away. Suicidal attempts aren't something to be smiley about. It's a serious mental health issue, and if an a&e dr thinks that it's something to smile about, then they're in the wrong job.

Hello

Thank you for sharing your experience, it can't have been easy writing it given your reason for attending the A&E.

We in no way down play the serious nature of a suicide attempt and I am sorry that is how it came across.

Kind Regards

Richard
