I live alone and hadn't been feeling well for 3 days after returning from abroad. Dehydrated and hungry I gathered all the strength and somehow managed to get to A and E on a Saturday expecting it would be understaffed and packed, and I will hv to wait for 3 hours plus. To my surprise the nurse assessed me within the first 45 mins and he was thorough with everything. 20 mins later a Doctor walked me in and was so kind and patient to listen to my story and address it without any further delay.
In the past it was difficult to get blood from my veins and I was dehydrated too but she very skilfully managed to draw blood and insert fluids through the same vein avoiding a second puncture. My case was handed over to the second doctor as she was finishing her shift and he had also made sure I was taken care of. Luckily I got discharged after the fluids were done as I had been given paracetamol and blood tests were normal. Given my previous visits to other A and Es, I'm impressed at the service level and quality being offered at bedford. Although you hv good n bad eggs everywhere, I was impressed by the patience of the nurse and Doctor. We need more healthcare professionals like you to keep our NHS running caringly and efficiently. Thank you so much to the staff on Saturday starting from receptionists to the cleaners, you all are doing a really good job.
"Top notch service, very patient and skilled."
