"Friendly & reassuring staff"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

I had to take my little girl (13 months old) to get a blood test done at Clinic 5.. The nurse who took the blood, was very friendly and reassuring. As a first time mum I was a little nervous about what would happen and how they would do the blood test with a little one who doesn't like sitting still. The nurses helped to distract my little girl with a toy, and put her arm behind me and took the blood as quickly as possible. Afterwards they checked she was ok with plasters before putting one on, and also gave her a flashing rattle for being a good girl.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your experience when visiting Clinic 5 with your daughter for a blood test and for such fast feedback. We strive really hard to ensure that each child and parent have a positive experience when coming to clinic 5 and are aware that coming for a blood test can be scary for children and an anxious time for parents too. Thank you also for your kind words which I will pass onto the staff in Clinic 5. She looked very happy with her flashing rattle and I'm really pleased that you had a good experience and we managed to put you at ease.

Kind regards

Karen
