I first came into hospital about 9-10 weeks ago with a stroke. I met the physiotherapists about 3 days after. My first impressions were good as I had been feeling unsettled initially. I thought it was good that they were teaching me how to walk again. I felt well informed as they tell you things step by step. It was good to hear when I was doing well. I felt encouraged for the next day to do better.
As time went on my physio sessions got better as I was progressing better. I liked that they were always telling me to do things in between sessions. I was glad when they came as they were always trying to help.
What worked well was that my walking and my speech improved. I feel great about myself now. I'm doing things now that I couldn't do when I came in. I didn't feel anything didn't work well. The only thing that could be better is if the sessions were longer, anywhere between half an hour to an hour.
Overall I feel the physiotherapists did a splendid job.
