I recieved a call from Dr Grays, Elgin Pre Assessment clinic to arrange an assessment for my up and coming surgery.
I was given two appointment times for the same day. Initially i felt it was mad having two appointments with such a long time gap inbetween but they have everything very organised, and later i realised the reason for this time gap.
I had my inital assessment with the nursing staff. My bloods were taken and some paperwork completed by a nursing assistant. She was very accomodating for my anxiety of getting bloods taken and she kept me at ease. Shortly afterwards I was taken into a room with the Staff Nurse who went through my procedure in great detail and gave me advice that was very individual to me in my line of work and personal situations at home. She informed me she was retiring in the next while, and she will be a great loss to her department and the NHS, as appeared to have a vast range of knowledge and experience.
In the afternoon i went back for my aneathnetist appointment. Again my experience was very positive. He made notes about for my ARI surgical team to read and he also gave very appropriate recommendations personalised to me.
All the staff i met there from the receptionist to the medical staff were very friendly and made my appointment very worthwhile.
Thank you.
