"Ignore the negative reviews!"

About: Bpas (northampton)

From ringing to making an appointment to 4 days later having an appointment in clinic.

Every. Single. Member of staff were so kind and sensitive.

I was reading reviews before my appointment as i had no idea what to expect. I noticed a couple were negative, which really put me off.

I went today, and they were so lovely. They made everything clear of what was going to happen. I was seen by a lovely receptionist first, who explained some things. I had pre-printed and completed the medical form prior. However, other women were doing it whilst they were there, that's no problem.

Within 15minutes I was seen by a lovely lady who asked me a bunch of questions, and took some minor observations. Again, so kind, told me she had all the time in the world. That no staff in the clinic were set by a time.

I was then seen by a lovely midwife for an internal scan. Bit daunting, but my OH was allowed into this part, and the midwife again, extremely kind and gentle. Explained everything and gave me choices of what I wanted to see and know. She then explained the treatment further and re-explained it and answered any questions to make sure I was ok with it all. Not once we're they patronising.

Me and my OH went away for a cup of tea and came back an hour later to take the first tablet with a very lovely and friendly nurse. Who again double checked I understood the treatment I go home with.

I really wasnt waiting long in-between staff.

So please please please, anybody who is daunted, nervous, scared about going. Don't be. They are extremely understanding, caring, kind and friendly. It is a charity where they really really want to help.

They offer pre and post counselling, contraception and advice. You can have this at any time at all. The number is 24/7 for you to call with any questions.

I really hope this helps.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback, which I am sure, will be extremely helpful to other women who are looking for guidance prior to their treatment.

We are also grateful for your very kind comments which will be passed on to the relevant BPAS staff.

Kind regards, Pam Field, BPAS Client Engagement Manager (email: clientservices@bpas.org).
