"It takes a long time to build up ground leave"

About: Locked & Specialist Rehab / Spencer South

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

They do keep you here for a long time and it takes a long time to even just build up to ground leave. The staff are quite cold and not very compassionate towards patients.

I'm sorry to hear you feel this way, as a team from the day of admission we will be working with you on discharge planning. This should be discussed with you, your carers and commissioning team within the first 3 months of admission and then 6 monthly after. Ground leave is based on individual risk and can be granted as soon as 3-4 weeks after admission in some cases.
