(as a carer),

 My mum was violently sick so I called out a doctor who claimed it was just a little bug and she would be fine and to call back if anything changed, I let her sleep for a bit and when I went in to wake her up and get her to take her medication, I found her fitting, instead of calling the doctors again I called the paramedics. When the paramedics came I felt they blamed me and told me I should have done more. Once we got to the hospital it was found that my mum had meningitis, all the doctors around me told me there was nothing I could have done to help her. Exactly 24 hours later my mum passes away with me by her side everyone was so nice and helpful except the paramedics, because of them I feel so guilty about her death I looked after her for 21 years now I'm thinking I should have done more to help her and I blame myself

I am so sorry to read your story and please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss. This must be a tremendously difficult time for you and I cannot begin to imagine what it is you are going through.

I am extremely disappointed to read about the way you were made to feel and I would like to take your feedback forward to ensure that any learning is taken.
