"Thank you to the lovely midwives who looked..."

About: Peterborough City Hospital / Maternity

I came into the delivery suite at 6am as I was in labour. The receptionist was nice and I wasn't kept waiting long. The midwife who examined me was very reassuring and spoke through what she was doing as she went along.

I was 5cm dilated and another midwife came very shortly after to take me to one of their birthing rooms where she got me settled in and handed me some gas and Air. She went over my birth plan with me and stayed with me through out my entire labour until her shift ended. She was very thorough and did daily observation checks and broke my waters as I wasn't progressing. She was really nice and really helped take my mind off the pain.

Eventually I was taken to a different room where I had doctor intervention and ventouse. Everyone was so encouraging when I felt like I just couldn't push anymore from exhaustion. My little boy was finally born on 20th April 2019.
