"Upset by questions at haematology clinic"

About: Barnet Hospital / Clinical haematology

(as the patient),

I have found a certain pattern in the behaviour of some of the staff at Barnet. They seem defensive, feign offence and adopt a certain childish method to alienate a patient.

At outpatient reception I was asked about my religion. When I said I didn't wish to divulge that, the receptionist became quite indignant and started to tell me how they only asked in order to help me. I fail to see how my religion would help them improve their service. However, though open to an explanation how this would, none was forthcoming.

The doctor was also indignant about why my GP had referred me. When I explained she had simply sought an opinion about my results and not an appointment, they told me appointments were sent automatically as though that were my fault.

Their monotone speech, arrogant and pompous demeanour and seeming disgust were difficult to understand. However, the question as to whether I had a job may give some explanation.

What possible relation does my career status have on my blood?

I'd love to know if there is a medical reason because if not I find it an unnecessary and inappropriate question.
