I took my 5 year old daughter to see Dr Mackie at Ratho medical centre, with a couple of concerns regarding her health.

He was fantastic with both myself and my daughter. He listened to me and did not make me feel like I was being an irrational mother. 

After sending us home with a course of antibiotics, he followed up with a phone call four days later to ensure the antibiotics were working and that she improving as a result. He also asked for us to return so he could do a follow up examination so he could see the improvement. This made me feel that he was being extra thorough in his practice even when time is precious within and over stretched service.

I do not visit the GP regularly and I often hear only negative comments about about them. However, I cannot praise Dr Mackie enough and I felt that for once it would be nice to be given praise where it is due.

I can only imagine what an anxious time this must have been for everyone and I was so pleased to read how Dr Mackie was able to listen to your concerns and so that your daughter got the right treatment - this must have been very reassuring. I was delighted to read that Dr Mackie kept in touch so that he was able to ensure that the antibiotics were working and that your daughter was getting better.

I have shared your lovely feedback with the team at Ratho who I am sure will be delighted to read your kind words. I do hope your daughter is well on the mend.
