"Invisible Disabilities- Sunflower Lanyards"

About: Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust / Child and adolescent mental health

(as a service user),

I have multiple invisible disabilities, including Autism and Tourette's Syndrome. I also have multiple long-term health conditions. Sometimes, I think it would be helpful if I had a way of letting people know that I have disabilities and need help. Occasionally, I struggle with going to public places and my behaviour can appear strange. I also struggle to get my words out when speaking. I would therefore like to ask that Tameside hospital and the other health services in Tameside to consider using the Sunflower Lanyards. Other hospitals in other parts of the country use the Sunflower Lanyards. I feel that Tameside should also use them. You can find more information about the Sunflower Scheme at the hidden disabilities website.

Also, Great Western Hospitals, as well as Guy and Thomas Hospitals use the scheme.
