"Hard to get anything done"

About: Highgreen Practice (Khan)

The doctors and nurses are generally nice but getting to see one of them is hard. I had to wait six months to book a smeer test, and they only do on the day appointments which are extremely hard to get unless you go down to the surgery at half seven and queue. They say they do bookable appointments but they only offer a few (literally) a month. I've also had problems getting things moved forward. I've had issues getting the secetry to type up and send off a referral about something quite urgent and have been left in pain because she forgot to send a referral off that the doctor had asked her to do. This must be fairly common because in the appointment he said if you haven't heard from the hospital after two weeks my secretary may have forgotten to send the referral. She didn't even ring me back to apologise and I've had to spend the last week chasing her. It's shocking.

Thank you for your comments. It would be helpful if you could identify yourself to the Practice so that we can follow up the concerns you have raised. Practice staff are not aware of any recent incidents as you have described. Generally the Practice does have a robust call/recall procedures for management of smears and so will ensure that all ladies that are offered appointments as necessary when they are due ; offers a number of weekly prebookable appointments as well as offering appointments via GP+ that offer appointments during the week and weekends and any urgent referrrals are prioritised by all staff to send off and follow up
