"Rude GP"

About: The Hambleden Clinic

Immersive Reader

After nearly 15 years of being a patient at this surgery, I have encountered the rudest GP I've ever met. Condescending and rude. I have had an ongoing chronic issue for 5 years and after speaking to an ENT consultant friend, asked the GP - not one I've met before- for a referral to a hospital. This seemed to annoy him and instead he lectured me on how patients don't take medication for the rest of their lives, which is why they don't get better. I told him I don't want to be taling medication for the rest of my life, before an expert has seen me and made a diagnosis. He begrudgingly referred me. He then prescribed me medication for a skin condition. I asked if he would look at a lump in my neck, and he told me to leave his office. He conducted the entire conversation without looking at me.

Thank you for your feedback on NHS choices.

We are genuinely very sorry that you had a negative experience at Melbourne Grove and Hambleden Practice.

At Melbourne Grove and Hambleden Practice we always try very hard to put Patient Service as a priority. I am sorry that this was not the case with your recent visit.

I would like you to contact me so that I can investigate this matter further.

Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention, we as a practice learn from feedback from all of our patients, as this ensures that we will continue to improve.

Kind regards
