(as a parent/guardian),

We had a scheduled outpatient appointment with our 5 month old daughter in clinic 5 (paediatrics), Lincoln County. Due to a road traffic accident our route to the hospital was jammed and alternative routes were also slow. We rang the clinic expecting to be told our appointment would have to be cancelled, however after consulting with the Dr the nurse said they would stay just for us and not to panic about trying to rush.

When we arrived (half an hour after our appointment time) the level of care and attention we received was outstanding, with no effort to rush us through even though the Dr and nurse should have finished their clinic already and were waiting just for us.

Thank you for leaving such lovely feedback on our service in Clinic 5. We always try whenever possible to see patients who arrive late for their appointment as we are aware that many have been waiting for their appointment for several weeks or longer. It is also in the best interest of the child to be seen in a timely manner and we appreciate the anxiety that parents may have if we have to rebook an appointment. Whilst this is ultimately down to the doctor we work as a team to ensure the best outcome for the child and young person and cancelling an appointment on the day is not something we do lightly. I will pass your kind comments onto the doctor involved and thank you again for your feedback it is very much appreciated.
