"Dad's poor eyesight and successful operation"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Ophthalmology

(as a relative),

Dr Savides has been Dad's consultant at Wishaw and Hairmyres Hospitals for many years. As his glaucoma, macular disease, bleeds behind the eye and cataracts got worse he could hardly see at all and Dr Savides was very informative and reassuring about operating on his best eye to remove the cataract while still pointing out the potential risks to his remaining vision. The cataract removal was a success and he has noticed a difference in coping with bright sunshine and can see colours better. It has helped him cope better with life in general, giving him some independence back. Dr Savides inspired confidence and was very patient and caring with an understandably hesitant patient. Thank you so much.

Dear Manzana,

Thanks very much for taking the time to post the feedback above. I will be sure to share it with Dr Savides as I know he will delighted to learn that he has had such a positive impact on you and your dad.

Best wishes,

Cameron
