"Rheumatology department"

About: Darent Valley Hospital / Rheumatology

My husband has been a patient of the rheumatology clinic for about 15 years. Previously treatment and efficiency was excellent. No longer can that be said.

He is currently nearly 3 months late for an injection for his psoriatic arthritis as the communication between the hospital and dispensing pharmacy is diabolical. We then find out today when trying to call the hospital for more assistance that the department has moved to another location with absolutely no information available for us to contact that clinic it also appears that other hospital staff do not have those details. He is also still waiting for details of a follow up appointment with the rheumatology nurse and another one with the rheumatology consultant. It seems to me that no longer are the patients interests being taken into account.

We were sorry to read of your husband difficulties with the rheumatology clinic. Unfortunately we do not run this service, it is run by Medway NHS Foundation Trust, however we do have on our website contact details for their service including it's new location.

Details can be accessed here: https://www.dgt.nhs.uk/our-services-specialists/a-to-z-of-services/medicine/rheumatology/ or you can contact The Patient Service Centre on 01634 838938 or email medwayft.rheumatologymedway@nhs.net.

We hope this has been of assistance.

Kind regards

The Communications Team
