(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter and I visited Lincoln County Hospital today for a blood test. We went to the Safari Day Unit initially who were very helpful. We hadn’t booked an appointment but the Nurse contacted the clinic and arranged for someone to take the blood. The Nurse on the Safari Day Unit applied numbing cream for my daughter.

We then went to clinic 5 where the great service continued. Two Nurses, Karen and Caroline put both my daughter and me at ease. My daughter said afterwards that she didn’t even feel the blood being taken.

Excellent, reassuring and kind service.

Thank you so much for your kind comments, as a department we strive hard within clinic 5 to make having a blood test as easy as possible and are aware that it can be a scary thing for children. The magic cream always helps!! It also helps other children who will read your comments so they know they have nothing to worry about when they come for a blood test. We are very pleased to read that we put you both at ease and really appreciate your kind feedback of our service. I will pass your comments onto Caroline and the staff on Safari Day Unit.
