My partner and I have, unfortunately, had a great number of health issues in recent years and we are both absolutely delighted with the level of care and service that we have been given by the team at Hartington Surgery. My partner has had increasingly serious mental health problems and the Doctors have always worked in a very cohesive way with his mental health professionals, especially with his Psychologist and Consultant Psychiatrist, which has made his treatment more effective and has given us both a feeling of security and reassurance. He has also been diagnosed with Epilepsy and Ataxia in the past year, during which the team have been incredibly supportive. We have both felt embarrassed by the amount of medical support that he has required as we do not want to be a drain on the service and, indeed, have apologised to the doctors on several occasions, but they have always reassured us that our need is genuine and that we must not hesitate to seek help. I must mention the fact that my partner has had numerous panic attacks and other alarming episodes at the surgery and the staff have responded in a very professional and respectful manner, treating him with care and dignity. The whole team have been closely involved in supporting us, from admin/receptionists, pharmacists, nurses and Doctors. I have also received exemplary and prompt care, which has been invaluable to me in my role as a full time carer for my partner, especially during my own struggle with depression. I am conscious that you have to edit out any reference to specific individuals but I must make mention of the exceptional treatment that we have both received from a particular Doctor. She is so very gifted and never fails to listen carefully, understand, be informative, inclusive, clear and concise. We feel so very lucky to be treated by her. The other exceptional individual is a Health Care Assistant/Nurse who has motivated me strongly in my battles with Diabetes and weight managent by being the most positive and upbeat lady....she makes you feel that you really can take control of your health and she supports you every step of the way. In summary, the Hartington team embodies everything that makes us so proud of our wonderful NHS and we are incredibly fortunate to receive such terrific levels of care.
