"Avoid this place if you love your dignity"

About: Northwick Park Hospital / Maternity

Only few nice midwifes ; lot of them are extremely rude and will not bother helping you. I have been told so many times "we are busy and no one got back to me for 12 hours ".

Most of you will get shared room pre and post child birth where you will have no privacy , very limited space to move , your partner will suffer and as a result before you go to labor ward you will be exhausted.

When you will come back post your delivery again you will be in shared room where you won't be able to sleep and everyone's babies will cry. You will never make any recovery at this place.

We had one doctor who didn't bother checking working cannula on my wife's hand and tried 3 times but could not find a spot to insert new one ; my wife who is anaemic lost lot of blood due to this. Next day they decided to give her blood transfusion but no one explained risks or side effects luckily nothing bad happened but It was horrible experience when my wife told me this. Last but not least , they will not discharge you on time. They will make you suffer like anything on your final day and leave you completely disappointed.

If you want to enjoy your new born please avoid this place. NHS is struggling but personally it is not acceptable for me as we pay over £80K tax per year and if I had opportunity to claim 20% back I would get it done in private.

My review is only targeted to rude midwifes and unprofessional docs ; we had some really nice midwifes while we stayed here .

I am very sorry to read of your experiences when visiting the Maternity Department at our Trust

I will share your feedback with the team who will be disappointed to receive it.

Should you wish for us to investigate exactly what happened with the care your wife received, then do please contact the Patient Relations team via email at LNWH-tr.patientrelations@nhs.net

Kind regards
