"Second C-Section here will definitely be my last!"

About: New Cross Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

Ive had my 2 children here. First one was lovely as i had an emergancy c section and as a Jehovahs Witness cant have blood. But they handled it amazingly and weirdly enough I enjoyed every minute of it and would do it all again.

But there was a lot of pressure for me to have blood and was told "I could die" which I was mortified to be told. As i do KNOW what not having blood entails - but to then be told that and pressured to have blood at such a stressful time was heart breaking. One member of staff showed an awful attitude. Specially being your first you are more nervous and don't know what to expect! But that was the first. It wasn't great but it wasn't that bad either. The surgeons were AMAZING and dealt with me amazing (I lost 1 pint of blood!!)

Second time. Will definitely be my last! awful experience. Had a planned c section which went lovely again. But came out of surgery really poorly and was in and out of consciousness afterwards. I'm not sure if this is normal but they didn't reassure me in anyway and left me to it why they got there next "slot" of c sections in. I couldn't hold my new born baby for at least 2 hours because of the state i was in. I was taken to the wards and treated disgusting by this one mid wife.

I had been told by my surgeon who had been round that morning to tell me not to get out of bed that day and anything i needed to ring the buzzer and have them get it for me. It was important i rested. which i did and was shouted at for calling the buzzer when they are busy with other things. I had rang for my breakfast as i was starving from the day before! The member of staff told me to get out of bed and stop being "lazy" I was beside myself crying and they whipped all my curtains back and told me its not good to keep the curtains around me. I had them round me because I was trying to change my underwear which I had no help with and could barely move due to my c section. I wanted to go home where my husband would look after me and I couldn't. I had to stay in that place being treated vile! Oh and I had a catheter in. So they wanted me to fetch my breakfast whilst holding my piss in a bag!

4 hours after surgery you are given a bowl of water and clothes to clean up. Instead of helping the mid wife actually stood there and watched my struggled to wash my vagina!

Turns out by that afternoon - the reason i was in so much pain was because i hadn't been given any of my medication! I had missed 3 doses!!!
