"Consistently good service from GP practice"

I regularly read the patient experiences relayed on this website and wanted to submit my own positive story.

I have attended the same GP practice in the Leith area of Edinburgh [Rose Garden Medical Practice] for around 6 years. During this time I have had only positive experiences of the service. The nurse, several longstanding and new and trainee GPs have all treated me with respect and courtesy during my visits over the years.

It is never a hassle to arrange an appointment and while you have to ring very early to be seen on the day, staff are always accommodating. The reception staff are pleasant on arrival and departure and the reception area is always well maintained and clean. Nursing staff are very friendly and willing to talk through a range of options - they make you feel listened to an genuinely want to help. The doctors I have encounted have all been friendly and knowledgable and the out of hours service (I've used once) was excellent.

Although it is not the most modern or up to date looking GP practice, I think that the staff and practice culture all contribute to make it a welcoming practice.
