"A&E visit and G-med appointments"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / GMED NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as a service user),

On Saturday 27/7/18 I visited A& E at Dr Grays, I arrived in the evening, and wasn't waiting long to be seen, I was really unwell with abdominal cramping and vomiting. The Dr I seen was very friendly put me at ease and listened to what has going on and explained things clearly, I also had fantastic care from nurse Kim who was very caring and also put me at ease and made sure I was OK. I was given fluids, pain relief and anti sickness  and was sent home later that night. However on Sunday I ended feeling unwell again and ended up having to call nhs 24 and was given an appointment later that day, I was seen by the Dr who was lovely and listened and checked everything she made me feel so at ease and was sent home with more antibiotics to treat a bad uti and some anti sickness tablets. Im finally starting to feel better and back to my normal self and really can not fault the care received at Dr Grays A& E all the staff were very helpful, kind and caring.

Dear Crohnie25

I am sorry to learn you have been so unwell and I hope you are on the road to recovery. I do wish you well. It sounds as though you have been through a tough time.

How kind of you to thank the staff members involved in your care. The staff within Dr Gray's sound very patient focussed and I am sure they will be delighted with your positive comments. It was good of you to also mention the staff here at NHS 24 who managed your call to 111. Our staff always strive to provide a positive patient/caller experience so I am pleased we were able to get you referred to be seen quite quickly.

Dear Crohnie25,

Thank-you for posting your story on Care Opinion. I am sorry to hear that you had been feeling so unwell a couple of weeks ago. However, I was delighted to read your comments about the GMED Clinician who treated you on Sunday 28th July. It is always wonderful to read such lovely feedback and I will pass on your comments to the clinician who treated you. I will also share this post with my senior clinical and managerial colleagues as it will make everyone's day to read such nice feedback. The GMED Service strives to ensure that it is a caring and listening service and it's wonderful to read that the clinician you saw was left you feeling listened to and well cared for at such a difficult time.

I am glad to read that even as you wrote your post, you were beginning to recover and I hope that by now your recovery is complete.

Best wishes,

Catherine
