"Having a bone marrow biopsy"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / General Medicine (Wards 5 & 8)

(as the patient),

Bone biopsy procedure carried out by Jane, assisted by Alix and Lauren.   Taken on time and procedure explained well.   Jane carried out the procedure and was very reassuring as it progressed. I experienced a little discomfort when the local anaesthetic was administered but very little sensation thereafter.   Ample time was allowed after the procedure for a short rest along with a cup of coffee.   All in all the procedure was less traumatic than expected largely due to the extremely pleasant staff involved.

Dear Maxbax

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience.

I am delighted to hear this was less traumatic than initially anticipated. Jane and the staff supporting her on the days have worked hard to ensure all patients attending are made to feel as reassured and as relaxed as possible. They will be delighted to receive such lovely feedback and will be grateful to you for taking the time to share on Care Opinion.

Please be assured I will be delighted to share this with them and also with their senior nurses.

Thank you once again.

Warmest Regards

Lynn
