About: General practices in Lanarkshire

(as a relative),

My wife has just had knee surgery and had to visit the nurse at Woodstock Medical Centre to check her wound after 10 days.

I had to borrow a wheelchair from the centre to transport my wife to the nurse.

The nurse had all the qualities of an excellent nurse. She made my wife totally relaxed and after checking and replacing the wound dressing, she opened all the wheelchair unfriendly doors and helped my wife into the car. She then took the wheelchair back to the centre.

Dear Basil,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of attending the Woodstock Medical Centre. It's really gratifying for staff to hear when their professionalism and deication is recognised and valued.

GP practices are independent contractors and aren't licenced to use Care Opinion so you won't receive a direct response from them, but I'll be sure to pass on your kind words to the Practice Manager to share with the nurse directly.

I wish your wife well with her ongoing rehabilitation.

Kind regards

Rick

Update posted by Basil (a relative)

Thanks. Although located within Woodstock Medical Centre, the nurse was a treatment room nurse employed by NHS Lanarkshire. However reception staff were also compassionate and located a wheelchair for us.

Dear Basil,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your message on Care Opinion. It is really gratifying to hear such a positive story involving your wife's treatment by our staff. It is important to know that there is care and compassion as well as a sound knowledge of the treatment required post surgery. I have "tracked down" the nurse responsible for seeing your wife on that day and have passed on your lovely message to her.

I wish your wife well in her recuperation.

Thank you again.

Regards

Monica Bone
