"Compassion & care"

About: Victoria Hospital / Admissions Unit 2 (Emergency Surgical)

(as the patient),

I was recently admitted to admission unit 2 following my SPC falling out. I had got myself all worked up and in a state over getting another SPC. The charge nurse that night was Becca - she sat with me, calmed me down and listened to what I had to say. She dried my tears and held my hand when I needed it most. I get anxious when talking to doctors so she did that for me. Over the next couple of day before my discharge, the care and empathy all the staff showed me softened my experience with the NHS. My poor mental health often leads to bad experiences for me but I’m so grateful for the care I received.

Dear Fowlerslife

Thank you for getting in touch and leaving your lovely feedback. I am glad that Becca was able to make your admission as good an experience as it can be, I know how upsetting it can be when admitted as an emergency. I hope you are on the mend, I have passed on your comments to all the team.

Regards

Lynsey
