I had a medical emergency ,husband contacted 111; sent us to The Beacon, no problem went striaght through with appointment, was then sent, by our own means, said to be faster! To Kings College Hospital, A & E via a letter to a particular department, though. Got there, had to wait nearly 1 hour, yes 1 hour to book in,to A&E, even though the letter was shown, then waited approx, 4.5 hours , (where in the meantime, I had passed out in A&E)we begged for a drip, as I was so dehydrated.
after 1 hour or more of passing out then my husband had to reason with the young doctor, should have been obvious, about needing hydrating. Eventually got to the relevant, luxurious department ,where there were only 2 other people, spread out on leather recliners, I joined them! Then another hour for a junior doctor/intern? to come ask some questions, then told
I was being sent to have an MRI scan and then be put on the ward to have a procedure tomorrow. Got on ward, no food except bread, was not given a gown until 10.45 after asking several times, let alone anything else. No sleep, the staff (except one lady, laughing & joking loudly, apparently goes on all the time. Next morning once they decided I didn’t really need the procedure, 2 people stood over the bed telling me to wait in the patient room as they wanted the bed & the other patient was there, No warning, as I was told it would take a couple of hours, so not to worry to arrange transport. This whole experience was dreadful, absolutely dreadful.
